New Delhi: Delhi Capitals and Indian opening batsman, Shikhar Dhawan has got his vaccination done for Covid-19 in Delhi on Thursday. The news comes after the Indian Premier League was postponed due to the rising cases of Covid-19 among cricketers from various IPL teams.
Shikhar Dhawan posted a picture of himself getting vaccinated on Instagram and wrote: "Vaccinated ✅ Can’t thank all our frontline warriors enough for their sacrifices and dedication. Please do not hesitate and get yourself vaccinated as soon as possible. It’ll help us all defeat this virus."

Shikhar Dhawan was part of the Delhi Capitals team in the IPL 2021. He was having a good IPL as he scored 380 runs in the 8 matches played for DC. Delhi Capitals were also in the top 2 in the points table for the majority of the IPL.
With the announcement of IPL being postponed came on Tuesday, the IPL GC is planning to make a strategy for the foreign players to return back to their home country. Sourav Ganguly, in an interview, said that the Indian players will have to vaccinate themselves from their respective hometowns. Shikhar Dhawan was quick to register and vaccinate himself right after the end of IPL 2021.
Dhawan had earlier also promised that he would donate the money won by all awardees in the post-match presentation for Covid-19 relief. Shikhar Dhawan has also shared a note on Twitter where he pledged to donate Rs 20 Lakhs along with money from all post-match individual performance awards for helping people with Oxygen supply.
