The Supreme Court appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA) has declined BCCI’s request of pay hike for Domestic and women cricketers. The pay hike was passed as a resolution in a Special General Meeting (SGM) on June 22.
The CoA had already announced a 100 per cent pay hike for the cricketers in March. However,BCCI disagreed with the Committee as the hike was not accurate because they did not consider the Gross Revenue Share (GRS) of the board.
As per reports, the CoA has stated that it was just a publicity stunt by BCCI and the structure finalized by the Committee will be followed. The pay structure was supposed to be officiated by the BCCI and since they did not do it, it was signed by CEO Rahul Johri.
The CoA is being flexible and open to suggestions by the BCCI if they are interested. They are also deciding the pay structure of states that will be joining in the upcoming season.
The board, on the other hand, wanted the hike to be decided after the media rights were determined. According to the current structure, it will take about four years before the players could benefit from the scheme.
