New Delhi: West Indian opener Chris Gayle used the lockdown to sharpen his talent to rap a song and came out with a single along with rapper Stylo G.
Shot mainly in Gayle's house near St Andrews hill, the music video is pretty graphic as per Indian standards and maintains its tag line -- Too Hot -- to the core. The opener shared the video link on his social media platforms and has already registered over a million hits across.
The video contains luxurious cars, women mostly in bikinis and wearing cricket equipment, pool, stripper pole and Gayle rapping away a few lines. It may be noted that Gayle has in the past admitted that he has a stripper pole installed in his house.
This is what Gayle's croons in the song:
Ah di millionaire laugh
Chris Gayle, di Universe Boss
Man hotta dan a pepper inna pot
Stylo time fi shoot di verse fast
Nah stop ah four, mi ah slap dem fi six
Mi nuh waste time check di watch pon mi wrist
Deh pon di road like tyre, ova di worl’ man hot like fire
Mi ah get gyal long before cricket, she book it, nuh miss it, first class ticket
She see mi style an mi neva haffi trick it
Di same night mi haffi bowl out di wicket
Chris Gayle, di Universe Boss
Man hotta dan a pepper inna pot
Stylo time fi shoot di verse fast
Nah stop ah four, mi ah slap dem fi six
Mi nuh waste time check di watch pon mi wrist
Deh pon di road like tyre, ova di worl’ man hot like fire
Mi ah get gyal long before cricket, she book it, nuh miss it, first class ticket
She see mi style an mi neva haffi trick it
Di same night mi haffi bowl out di wicket
Dwayne Bravo success with multiple single hits may have rubbed on to Gayle as well as he joins the music stable that has included some legendary names in the typical Caribbean shift from cricket to music. Earlier in 2014, Andre Russell also recorded a single called Sweat Whine while cricketer-turned musicians from West Indies also include Richie Richardson, Curtly Ambrose and Omari Banks.
