In a never seen before incident, in an international match, former India captain MS Dhoni was caught playing chor-police with a fan who had ran onto the field during the 2nd ODI between India and Australia at Nagpur on Tuesday.

The incident happened when the Indian team was making its way out in the middle after the innings break. The fan somehow breached the security and ran straight towards the cricketers. He first got hold of Rohit Sharma, who somehow managed to dodge him but his real intention was to touch MS Dhoni’s feet, who was walking behind the rest of the Indian cricketers.

Dhoni apparently was in no mood to give in easily and decided to have some fun. His sprinting skills came in handy as he started to run in an attempt to get away from the fan. The fan was adamant, he started to chase Dhoni. In between, Vijay Shankar and Indian captain Virat Kohli did try to stop him on his tracks but the clad on white t-shirt slipped away from their grips and continued to chase Dhoni.

Dhoni finally stopped beside the pitch area and allowed the fan his moment. He touched Dhoni’s feet and the former captain embraced him even as the surprised Indian cricketers and on-field umpires looked on. He was escorted out by a Vidarbha Cricket Association volunteer and a few security personnel.

Though the fan did not mean harm and only wanted to touch his idol Dhoni’s feet, it raised serious question marks on the security of the players in the Vidarbha Cricket Association's stadium in Jamtha.

Earlier, India were shot out for 250 despite a resolute under-pressure 40th hundred by skipper Virat Kohli. India are leading the five-match ODI series 1-0.
