Pakistan in WTC Final: The two-match Test series between Pakistan and Bangladesh is set to begin on August 21st. Under the captaincy of Nazmul Hossain Shanto, Bangladesh is ready to challenge Shan Masood-led Pakistan, who are eager to bounce back after a 0-3 Test series defeat against Australia.

Pakistan, on the other hand, is determined to qualify for the World Test Championship final for the first time, making PAK vs BAN Test series crucial for their campaign.

All nine teams are vying for a spot in the 2025 World Test Championship (WTC) final, set to take place at Lord's stadium in England in June 2025, with India seen as a strong contender. In previous WTC cycles, Pakistan missed the top two spots, finishing sixth in 2019-2021 and seventh in 2021-2023.

Currently, India tops the World Test Championship points table, with Australia in second place, while Pakistan is in sixth. For India-Pakistan clash in WTC final to happen, Pakistan would need to win majority of their remaining matches, while India must maintain their top position.

What Pakistan needs to do to make it to World Test Championship (WTC) 2025 Final?

To secure a spot in WTC final, Pakistan still has nine Test matches left to play. Winning at least 7 out of these 9 matches would likely guarantee them a place in WTC Final. However, if Pakistan loses more than two of these matches, their chances of reaching WTC Final would be diminished.

If Pakistan wins 6 out of their remaining 9 matches, with two draws and just one loss, they can still qualify for the WTC final. However, if Pakistan loses two matches and one match ends in a draw, their qualification will depend on the performance of other teams as well.

Is blockbuster India vs Pakistan WTC Final clash a possibility?

India still has 10 matches remaining in the World Test Championship. To secure a spot in WTC Final final, India needs to win at least 7 of these matches. However, if they lose more than three matches, their chances of reaching the final would be jeopardized.

If India wins 6 out of its 10 remaining matches, and two matches are drawn with only two losses, the team will secure a spot in the WTC final. However, if India wins just 5 matches, loses 3, and draws 2, their chances of reaching WTC Final would rely on the performance of other teams.

If these scenarios work out in favor of both India and Pakistan, there's a possibility of witnessing this dream matchup in the final of the World Test Championship 2025 in Lord's.
