The International Cricket Council disclosed the official poster recently for the upcoming ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, slated to take place in India. The poster featured 10 skippers including reigning winners, England posing with the trophy with Mumbai’s iconic backdrop. But then the crux is this is not the official captain's photo.
Seeing this fans were disappointed as rather than some awe-inspiring pictures of the captains, they witnessed a digitally edited composition. Social media went berserk with reactions. One of the fans wrote, "We went from getting the WC schedule 13 months in advance to getting last-minute changes in a schedule that got announced 2 months before. No theme song, no hype. The captains poster went from this to this. You can't name a bigger downgrade."
Another said, "Why are they all wearing the 2019 kits instead of the 23 ones in the 23 poster"?
Third user commented, "ise se acha photoshop to mera 7 saal ka ladka kar leta hai..."
Fans started recollecting the incredible poster of the 2019 World Cup that featured India’s former captain Virat Kohli and other skippers exuding royalty in a picture-perfect snap.
Talking about the upcoming World Cup, the high-octane event will be taking place from October 5 with the match between England and New Zealand. On the other hand, the highly-anticipated match between India and Pakistan has been rescheduled, as per the reports by India Today. The match will now be played on October 14, a day before the original schedule of October 15. The first semi-final is set to take place fon November 15 in Mumbai, followed by the second in Kolkata on the next day. Reserve days have also been allotted for the semi-finals and the final, all of which will be day-night matches.
