Former Australia bowling great Brett Lee is not happy with the names of the players and numbers being printed on Test jerseys and termed the move as 'ridiculous'.

England and Australia, presently competing in the first Test of the much-awaited Ashes series, have become the first nations in the history of Test cricket to wear names and numbers on their jerseys. The first Test in Birmingham also marked the launch of the ICC World Test Championship.

Former Pakistani bowling legend Shoaib Akhtar also echoed Lee's sentiments and termed this decision awful. At the same time, he has also asked for the reversal of this decision by the International Cricket Council (ICC).

As far as the WTC is concerned, the top two teams with most points as of April 30, 2021, will then contest in the WTC final on June 2021 in the UK. Each of the nine teams will play six of the eight possible opponents across a two-year period, with three series at home and as many series away and a total of 120 points up for grab within each series.
