Members of the Pakistan cricket team are currently in Hyderabad where they took part in their warm-up matches and also organised their practice sessions ahead of the World Cup 2023. Ever since arriving in India, Pakistan members have also been tasting Hyderabad’s famous dish, Biryani. Quite a few Pakistan’s cricketers also spoke about the great hospitality they received in India and also about the famous dish, Biryani.
On Wednesday, former India player Ravi Shastri asked Babar Azam, “ how was the biryani”?. Babar replied by saying, “ It was great. Had always heard Hyderabadi Biryani was good. It was quite good.”
In a video posted by ICC, the Men in Greens were asked to choose between Hyderabadi Biryani and Karachi Biryani where Pakistan skipper came up with an interesting answer.
"It is the specialty. The Hyderabadi Biryani! And I think it is an 8 out of 10! It is slightly spicy though."
"It is very similar but the Hyderabadi Biryani is slightly on the spicier side," he said.
Previously, PTI reported that the Pakistan players had requested the stadium caterer for steamed basmati rice, spaghetti in Bolognese sauce, and vegetarian pulao. Even, Pakistan’s cricketer Shadab Khan who led the side in the warm-up match against Australia in World Cup 2023, came up with a hilarious take on Biryani. He said players of his team have been slow because of eating the popular Indian food item on a regular basis.
"We are eating it daily, and perhaps that is why we are getting a bit slow (laughs)," Shadab was quoted as saying.
Pakistan will start their World Cup campaign by playing against the Netherlands on October 6.
