England beat India by 28 runs in the first Test of the five-match series at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Sunday (January 28). It was a remarkable comeback for the Three Lions who trailed by 190 runs, halfway in the match but came out on top to beat India at a venue where they had never lost a Test match before. Ollie Pope and Tom Hartley were the stars for England.
However, it was a crucial run out by Ben Stokes that perhaps tilted the balance of the match in favour of England as India attempted to chase down 231 to win. The incident happened in the first ball of the 39th over as India tried to revive the blows they had received after Tea on Day 4 as register a partnership. As Jadeja pushed one to mid-on and tried to rotate the strike, Stokes not only got to the ball but reverse flicked it while he was off balance and still managed to hit the stumps.
Consequently, Jadeja was run out for the first time in international cricket. A video of Stokes' effort that helped England get the crucial breakthrough has surfaced on social media.

Our Greatest Test Win Since I Have Taken Over As Captain: Stokes
Meanwhile, Stokes called the Hyderabad victory, the greatest England Test win since he took over as captain.
"Since I've taken the captaincy on, where we are and who we're playing against, it's 100% our greatest victory," he said at the post-match presentation.
"My first time coming out here and being captain in these conditions. I'm a great observer, I've watched how India operate in the field. Absolutely thrilled for everyone," he added.
Stokes termed Pope's 196 in the second innings as the greatest innings by an Englishman in the subcontinent.
