The BCB CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury said the 'Covid-19 Wellness' app has been launched keeping in mind players welfare and bringing them under one umbrella.
"This app will help the players maintain their fitness and for the board to keep their records and track of their fitness and health status. This is basically to bring the players under one umbrella and the BCB has introduced it primarily for the contracted players (Men, women and Under-19 team). But we plan to add more players," Nizamuddin told leading Bangladesh daily 'The Daily Star'.
The application has been customised using the EDGE10 sports analytics software to track individual players on a daily basis, BCB said in a press statement.
BCB's Manager Management Information System (MIS) Nasir Ahmed further stated that the players can use the app through any smartphone.
The app will help the BCB stay updated on the players' daily health status, the report on thedailystar.net, said.
"The players will be expected to respond to a number of questions related to COVID-19 symptoms and behavioral patterns each day. The queries have been set in conjunction with the BCB's Medical Team which will monitor the comprehensive data over a certain period of time for risk indication and separate players if needed based on the information.
"We have prepared this app in consideration of the unusual situation we find ourselves in due to the spread of the coronavirus. Players have already started putting their inputs. We also have resumption of training in mind as sooner or later we have to get the cricketers back on the field. The COVID-19 WELLNESS app will be a very useful tool for ensuring safety and health of the cricketers and relevant personnel."
