New Delhi: Chris Lynn  and Brendon McCullum’s unbeaten 148-run stand made a mockery of the 174-run target set by Perth Scorchers as Brisbane Heat cruised home in just 14.4 overs with 9 wickets remaining to rise to the top of the Big Bash League table.

People lost count of the records Chris Lynn broke on his way to an unbeaten 98 off 49 balls. Lynn casually helped himself to 11 sixes, equaling the Big Bash record of Chris Gayle and Craig Simmons’ for the most number of sixes in an innings. Lynn’s Big Bash tally of sixes rose to 26 -- more than any other team – let alone a player.

It was hard to believe that the same batsman was a doubtful starter for this game because of the injury he had suffered in the previous match. It didn’t matter who was the bowler as Lynn hit some of the biggest sixes ever at WACA. Such was the ferocity of the right-hander’s knock that it outdid captain McCullum’s innings- which is a rare phenomenon, especially when he was scoring at a strike rate off 161.29.

Batting first, Scorchers did a decent job of putting 173 on board, lead by all-rounder Mitchell Marsh’s blazing 70 off 41 balls. Unfortunately it was not enough as Lynn and McCullum took T20 batting to another level.
