The Bangladesh cricket board has announced a 15-member squad for 2-match Test series to be played in West Indies in the month of July.

Bangladesh’s star pacer Mastafizur Rahman has found himself on the stand-by list of players for the upcoming 2-match Test Series against West Indies.

The decision was made after he suffered a toe injury which even prevented him to play the recently concluded T20 series against Afghanistan. Allrounder Mosaddek Hossain is also amongst the stand-by players along with Yeasin Arafat, Abu Haider, and Naeem Hasan.

Pacer Abu Jayed who made his T20I debut against Sri Lanka earlier this year has been inducted into the squad.

Rubel Hossain and Shafiul Islam, who last played a test match against South Africa last year, have also been called for this series. Youngster Nazmul Hossain Shanto, who has impressive batting records, has been included in the squad as well.

The squad will be led by Shakib Al Hasan who decided to take rest against South Africa and could not play against Sri Lanka owing to an injury. He will be supported by Taijul Islam, Mehidy Hasan and Mahmudullah in smoothly regulating the spin department.

The first Test commences on July 4 in North Sound and the second on July 12 in Kingston. The series will be followed by three ODIs and as many T20Is.
