New Delhi: Bangladesh spinner Arafat Sunny was taken into police custody after a case was filed against him under the country’s Information and communication Technology act (ICT).
Sunny was arrested after his girlfriend accused him of uploading sensitive photos on social media.
If found guilty Sunny could face up to 14 years in jail or a fine of 10 million taka ($126,340) under the controversial law.
The left arm slow bowler has played 16 One Day Internationals for Bangladesh, taking 24 wickets and 10 T20 international matches claiming 12 wickets.
Arafat Sunny was suspended from international matches during ICC World T20 2016 for illegal bowling action.
