Virat Kohli is widely regarded as one of the finest batters in modern-day cricket. The 34-year-old has scored a scarely bellievable 76  international centuries and enjoys a massive fan following around the globe. No wonder what he does on and off the field tends to grab a lot of eyeballs and interest with the media extensively reporting on various facets of his life. However, not everything which is written about him might be true.

Kohli opted to use his social media to debunk a 'fake news' which had cited a report claiming that him and wife Anushka Sharma will be building a cricket pitch at their Alibaug farmhouse. The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) star shared a news link of that article while accompanying it with a piece of text which read: "Bachpan Se Jo Akhbaar Padha Hai, Wo Bhi Fake News Chaapne Lage" which roughly translates to "The newspapers which I have been reading since childhood, have also started publishing fake news."

Take a look at Kohli's Instagram story:

Talking about Kohli's cricketing assignment, he was part of the Test and ODI squad for the West Indies series but was not included for the T20I leg. He won't feature in the Ireland T20Is either but will be critical to India's chances at Asia Cup 2023 and the ODI World Cup 2023.

While Kohli was the captain of the Indian team which lost in the semifinals of the previous edition of the ODI World Cup in 2019, this time around he will play under Rohit Sharma. He is likely to bat at the number 3 position which he has made his own in this format, having scored loads of runs in national colours around the world from this batting position. Kohli was part of the ODI World Cup-winning squad when India lifted the trophy in 2011.
