Hello and welcome everybody to our live coverage of the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023 match between Australia and South Africa. We apologise for the delayed start to our live blog.
Background
AUS vs SA LIVE SCORE: South Africa are taking on Australia in a mega ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023 fixture in Lucknow. This is the second match in the round-robin stage of both these teams. While Australia succumbed to a defeat in their World Cup opener against India, the Proteas beat Sri Lanka by 102 runs in their first match of the global cricket competition. This would be an interesting game then with the Aussies coming into this competition as among the favourites and not many backing Temba Bavuma's men to go all the way.
That and the fact that the teams have had contrasting starts could play a factor in this match. Moreover, for the first time after many years it seems like that The Men From the Rainbow nation are not under any kind of pressure that allows them to play a fearless brand of cricket. On the other hand, Australia will feel the heat playing with the tag of favourites.
Talking about the match, Australia won the toss and elected to field first. However, it hasn't been a great start for them with the South African openers taking them for runs for fun. Quinton de Kock has carried his form from the previous match into this game while Bavuma has also showm great support so far. It would be interesting to see where the game progresses from here and how the pitch behaves given this will be the first match at this surface in this edition of the World Cup.
Will spin have a role to play in this game or whether it will all be about the pacers and the batters and the battle between them in Lucknow? We will try and bring you speedy updates from the match. STAY TUNED!
