New Delhi: Peter Handscomb played a brilliant knock of 110 runs before he was dismissed in an unusual manner. Handscomb played played a late cut on Whab Riaz’s delivery which got his bat in contact with the leg stump to dislodge bails.
The 25-year-old became 21st Australian cricketer to be out hit-wicket and the first Australian cricketer since Shane Warne who stood on his stumps in 2005 during epic Ashes clash in Birmingham.
Handscomb received standing ovation as left the field after scoring his second Test century. His innings consisted of nine boundaries in 205 balls. The Victorian has scored 250 runs in five innings and yet to be dismissed below 54 runs.
