The IPL 2023 stint of KL Rahul ended early when got injured and was ruled out from the tournament. His team Lucknow Super Giants managed to reach in the top 4 but then they were knocked out in the Eliminator. Rahul has been going through a rough patch, both on and off the field and it was evident when rumours of him going to an adult-themed nightclub in the United Kingdom, became the topic of discussion on social media on Saturday.

To shut down all the rumours, Rahul’s wife Athiya Shetty came in with a statement on social media. "I usually choose to be silent and not react, but sometimes it's important to stand up for yourself. Rahul, I, and our friends went out to a regular place, as one does. Stop taking things out of context, and check your facts before reporting. Peace and love," Athiya posted a story on Instagram.

The Karnataka-based player got slammed by many social media users who claimed that Rahul visited a strip club.  Talking about Rahul’s professional front, he has not been scoring runs for a while now and has been on the sidelines. He went through thigh surgery as he suffered an injury during the league game against Royal Challengers Bangalore while playing for Lucknow Super Giants.

Since he is still recuperating, he will be missing out on playing the  ICC World Test Championship final against Australia which is to start on June 06.

"Absolutely gutted that I won't be at the Oval next month with Team India. I'll do everything I can to get back in the blue and help my country. That has always been my focus and priority."

"After careful consideration and consultation with the medical team, it's been concluded that I'll be undergoing surgery on my thigh shortly. My focus will be on my rehabilitation and recovery in the coming weeks. It's a tough call to make, but I know it's the right one to ensure a full recovery," the post stated.
