Wah Cricket in Dubai

Asia Cup games have come under the scanner of the anti-corruption unit. According to sources, an Afghan player was approached by an Indian bookie before the Pakistan game and the player immediately reported the matter to the team manager, who coordinated with the India staff and reported it to the anti-corruption officers.

The ACSU (Anti Corruption and Security Unit) is already having its hands full with a number of inputs regarding bookies in this area and the team is reportedly also looking into Sri Lanka’s early exit from the tournament after shattering defeats to Bangladesh and Afghanistan in the group stage.

Two ACSU officers are here for this tournament. ICC Anti Corruption officer Beer Singh is also keeping a close eye on the proceedings.

The ICC meanwhile is wary of the number of league sprouting around in this region. The Pakistan Super League (PSL), T10 league as well as the Afghanistan league have their games in Dubai and the UAE, which provide ideal breeding grounds bookies.
