23-year-old Naim made his ODI debut for Bangladesh earlier this year in March and since then he has played just four matches so far. His record in international cricket is quite poor. Despite making mere 10 runs in three innings, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) named in their squad as the number-one choice opener for 2023 Asia Cup. Bangladesh will kickstart their campaign in 2023 Asia Cup with a match against defending champions Sri Lanka on August 31 in Kandy.

The Indian team will start their 2023 Asia Cup campaign against Pakistan. India vs Pakistan Asia Cup 2023 match will be played on 2nd September in Sri Lanka's Kandy. According to media reports, the Indian team for 2023 Asia Cup is to be selected on August 21.
