Asia Cup 2023 Points Table: India beat Nepal by 10 wickets at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium on Monday. The Men in Blue won the toss and elected to field first as captain Rohit Sharma wanted to give some game time to his bowlers. This was because their Asia Cup 2023 opener agaianst Pakistan was called off after their batting innings due to persistent showers. The Indian side needed points on the board in their match against Nepal to go through to the Super Fours which they did in another rain-affected match in Kandy.

India vs Nepal was the final Group A match in Asia Cup 2023. The result has taken India to 3 points and they now join Pakistan as the second team to proceed to the Super Fours. Pakistan finish at the top of the Group A Asia Cup 2023 points table with 3 points and a net run rate of +4.760, while India follow them with same points and a net run rate of +2.689.

As far as Group B is concerned, they still have a match remaining and no team has yet secured a place for itself in the Super Four round. While Sri Lanka are sitting on top of the points table with 2 points and a healthy net run rate of  +0.951, Bangladesh also have 2 points with a Net Run rate of  +0.373 but do not have a match remaining. Afganistan and Sri Lanka will play the final match from this group and thus there could well be scenario where all the three teams finish with 2 points.

In that case, the two teams with the best net run rate will proceed to the Super Fours. As of now, Afghanistan languish at the bottom of Group B with 0 points and a net run rate of -1.780.
