New Delhi: After an embarrassing defeat against England, the Indian team was kicked out of the T20 World Cup 2022. Post the defeat, the Men in Blue have been facing a lot of criticism for their poor run in the semi-final clash against the English side. Fans and former cricketers have condemned Ravichandran Ashwin also.
Former Pakistan spinner Danish Kaneria denounced Ashwin for his below-average show and said, on his YouTube channel, “Ravichandran Ashwin shouldn't have played in this T20 World Cup. He cannot do well in Australian conditions. He should only play Test cricket. Virat Kohli did the right thing when he was the captain, reserving Ashwin only for the longer format. T20 cricket is not his cup of tea. Being an off-spinner, he can't bowl off-spin”.
Ashwin has scalped six wickets in six matches he played. Talking about the match, India batted first and scored 168 runs in 20 overs. Virat Kohli yet again starred with the bat and scored a brilliant half-century. Hardik Pandya too played a blinder as he made 63 runs in just 33 balls. Opener KL Rahul once again failed to deliver as he got out after scoring just 5 runs.
In reply, England openers Buttler and Hales starred with the bat and led England to a facile win. England will now lock horns against Pakistan in the final of the T20 World Cup at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on Sunday.
