Meanwhile, players and support staff members of both England and Australia were spotted wearing black armbands on Day 1 of ENG vs AUS Edgbaston Test.

As per an official statement released by the country's cricket board (ECB) on Thursday (June 15), the heartwarming gesture is a tribute to the people who lost their lives due to a stabbing and van attack in England's Nottingham. Also, a minute silence was observed in memory of the victims. Earlier this week, a man went on a rampage and stabbed three citizens to death in Nottingham. One of the victims was a budding cricketer, who played for Bishops Hull Cricket Club.

As per reported by the INDEPENDENT, England skipper Ben Stokes shared his thoughts on the gruesome incident and said, "The deeply distressing scenes witnessed in Nottingham this week have brought immense sorrow to everyone, particularly the cherished friends and families of the victims. It is impossible to express how much their lives and futures have been tragically disrupted".
