Three Batters Score 80s For India In 1st Innings vs England

As far as the ongoing Test match is concerned, England won the toss and opted to bat first. They were bundled out for 246 in the first innings with the three Indian spinners taking eight wickets between them. India, on the other hand, posted 436 runs in their first innings to take a 190-run lead. Three of their batters scored 80s with Ravindra Jadeja top-scoring with 87 after his three-wicket haul with the ball. KL Rahul scored 86 while Yashasvi Jaiswal scored a brisk 80.

In the second innings, England were 113/1 at one stage but India came back to scalp wickets at regular intervals to reduce England to 163/5 in 36.5 overs. Bumrah, who was the only Indian pacer to take wickets in the first innings produced a double strike after which the spinners resumed their party with Jadeja and Ashwin leading te way. England have lost half their side and are still behind India after which they will have to set a target for India which India would need to chase down.

January 27 (Saturday) happens to be the third day in this Test match which means that match is almost certain of ending with a result and at this stage it is the hosts who seem to be at an advantageous position.
