His father might have been an opening batsman par excellence but Arjun Tendulkar started his youth international career as an opening bowler and struck in the second over of his spell.


The junior Tendulkar started the proceeding for India U-19 in the first Youth Test match in Colombo after hosts Sri Lanka decided to bat first.


Though Arjun missed his run-up in the first ball of his spell but came back strong with to complete his first over, yielding six runs.


In his second over, he justified the hype around him with a beautiful in dipper that trapped Kamil Mishra right plumb in front.






The left-arm medium failed to make further inroads but impressed many with his control and swing with the new ball. He was one of the most economical bowlers for India U-19, giving away only 33 runs in his 11 overs with the wicket of Kamil to his credit.


India U-19 bowled out Sri Lanka out for 244 with left-arm spinner Harsh Tyagi and Ayush Badoni picking up four wickets apiece.
