Angelo Matthews Returns As Sri Lanka Pick T20I Squad For India Series

Mathews, who has donned the captaincy hat for the Lankans in  T20Is , has not played the shortest format since August 2018 due to injuries and concerns over his fitness .

All-rounder Angelo Mathews made a comeback into the Sri Lankan T20 team after  their national cricket board named the 16-man squad for the 3-match T20 series against India on Wednesday.

Mathews, who has donned the captaincy hat for the Lankans in  T20Is , has not played the shortest format since August 2018 due to injuries and concerns over his fitness .

Sri Lanka Cricket also stated that fast bowler Nuwan Pradeep picked up an injury during training and has been ruled out of the tour. Veteran pacer Lasith Malinga will be captain of the team.
