IPL 2021: Currently in the Indian Premier League (IPL) broadcast team, Ex-Australian cricketer, Brett Lee has donated 1 Bitcoin to a website ‘www.cryptorelief.in’ “to help with the purchase of oxygen supplies for hospitals across India”. 1 Bitcoin’s current value is around Rs 41 lakhs. The cricketer turned commentator seem to have taken inspiration from his fellow countryman, Pat Cummins who donated 50,000 USD to the PM CARES fund for Covid-19 relief.

Brett Lee informed about it via a Twitter post. He wrote: “India has always been like a second home for me. The love and affection that I have got from the people of this country both during my professional career and even after my retirement, holds a special place in my heart. It saddens me deeply to see people suffering due to the ongoing pandemic

The condition of Covid-19 in India is getting out of hand and is getting world-wide recognition.

“I feel privileged to be in a position of making a difference and with that in mind, I’d like to donate 1 BTC (Bitcoin) o Crypto Relief to help with the purchase of oxygen supplies for the hospitals across India”

He also thanked the frontline workers “who have been working round the clock during these tough times.”

Recently, Mumbai Indians player from Australia Chris Lynn had requested the Australian government to arrange for chartered planes for their return back to India. But the Australian PM Scott Morrison denied providing any such privileges as the “players have travelled privately.”

Finally, Brett Lee also asked people to take care of themselves and take al necessary precautions.
