New Delhi: If you were watching the IPL final unfold you surely would have noticed an old lady praying from the bottom of her heart during the last over of the match.

Who was she? Were her prayers so strong that it enabled Mumbai Indians to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat? Twitteratis sure believed so as the social media went crazy filled with queries about the identity of the lady as soon as Mumbai won the IPL.

It was later on revealed by the Mumbai Indians official twitter handle that the lady was Purnima Dalal, mother of Mumbai Indians owner Nita Ambani and the biggest fan of Mumbai Indians.

Indeed she was the biggest fan. It all came down to 11 off the last six balls. Mrs. Purnima was seen praying with folded hands for the victory of Mumbai Indians, who seemed down and out for the better part of the final. Manoj Tiwary hit Johnson’s first ball over square-leg for a boundary, now it was 7 off 5. Mrs Purnima could not bear to watch the action. This time her eyes were closed in prayers.

But two wickets off the next tow deliveries changed everything and Mumbai went to lift the IPL for the third time by winning the match by narrowest margin of 1 run. They had successfully defended a paltry 129.
