After a season to forget, Delhi Capitals have announced the decision to part ways with Ajit Agarkar and Shane Watson from their coaching staff. The franchise took to social media to make their decision public. Both Agarkar and Watson were working in the capacity of assistant coach with the team. While Ricky Ponting continues to be the head coach of the team, Sourav Ganguly is the Director of Cricket at DC.

"You’ll always have a place to call home here πŸ’™ Thank You, Ajit and Watto, for your contributions. All the very best for your future endeavours πŸ™Œ #YehHaiNayiDilli," DC wrote along with a picture of the two.

Meanwhile, a fresh report has emerged which claims that Agarkar decided to quit DC after he gave his name for the role of the national selector. With the former India pace-bowler favourites to get the job, he would have anyways not been able to fulfill both the roles.

On the other hand, it was already being anticipated that there would be a huge shuffle in the coaching unit of the franchise after a season in which they just didn't get going and eventually finished ninth in the ten-team table. They had a forgettable first half of the tournament and even though they did stitch a few wins together in the latter half, they had left themselves too much to do and ended the season with 5 wins from 14 matches and a net run rate of -0.808.

Only Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) with 8 points from 14 matches and a net run rate of -0.590 were ranked below them in the final league table rankings.
