Pakistan are at the receiving end of a lot of criticism for their performance in the ongoing ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024. While they succumbed to a shock defeat against the United States of America (USA) in their tournament opener, they were in a position to win the match against India but bottled up under pressure to lose the match by 6 runs. Pakistan captain Babar Azam failed with the bat in both the matches has been attracting his share of criticism.
Joining the voices who have been criticising Babar, is Pakistan batter Ahmed Shehzad. The 32-year-old did not mince his words and said that there was no use of a King referring to Babar Azam if he cannot win matches for the team.
"You have hallucinated people by scoring runs against B, C, and D teams," Shehzad said when he was quizzed on Pakistan's performance in T20 World Cup 2024.

"Your salaries were increased by PCB to evolve your game, but you put their money on social media for image building and nothing else," he added while airing his views on a cricket show as quoted by News18.
What Kind Of King Is Babar Azam: Ahmed Shehzad
Shehzad questioned Babar Azam's average and strike rate in big matches and is inability to come good on big matches.
"Look at your scores in big tournaments, your stats, your average and your strike rate. What kind of a king Babar Azam … Iss king kya karu jisne match nahi jitwana hai. (What do I do with a King who does not win you matches). There is a stat that your big scores have come it losing causes."
Babar got out for 13 in Pakistan's run-chase of 120. In Pakistan's T20 World Cup 2024 opener against USA, the Men in Green skipper scored 44 off 43 as Pakistan lost in the Super Over.
