James Anderson is widely regarded as one of the greatest cricketers ever to have played the game. The right-arm speedster is the leading wicket-taker among fast bowlers in Test match cricket and even at 41 looks far from done. The veteran England fast bowler currently stands at 698 Test wickets and is just 2 wickets away from the 700-Test wicket which only seems a matter of time, given the way he has been bowling. For all you know, it could happen in the ongoing fourth Test match against India at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi.

Apart from his bowling, Anderson seems ever-committed to do his best for the Three Lions and looks fit as a fiddle even at 41. One of the examples of that was on display on Day 4 of the ongoing Ranchi Test. The incident happened in the 18th over of India's second innings. Chasing 192 to win, India were off to a great start with Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal already having put on 84 runs for the first wicket.

In the third ball of this particular over from Joe Root, Jaiswal tried to go for an attacking shot on a fuller length deliver but only managed a thick outside edge. Even as the ball seemed to be falling short of short third, Anderson, who was stationed there, put in a forward dive to complete a fantastic catch.

India On Verge Of Victory In IND vs ENG 4th Test In Ranchi

As far the match situation is concerned, India are in a comfortable position in the run chase.  At lunch on Day 4, the hosts are 118/3, needing 74 more runs to win. While Rohit scored 55, Jaiswal departed for 37. Rajat Patidar suffered yet another low score and got out for a duck. However with Shubman Gill and Ravindra Jadeja out in the middle and a fair bit of batting to follow, India are in the driver's seat to finish off a win and take an unassailable lead in the series.
