The start of the opening day of play was delayed due to this unusual reason as Bihar locked horns at home against the most successful side in the history of India's premier first-class cricket competition.
A report carried by The Indian Express claims that the two teams turning up for the match was in fact an outcome of a fight between the two factions of the Bihar Cricket Association (BCA). While a team had ben named by the BCA president Rakesh Tiwary, the one had been selected by the secretary of the assocation Amit Kumar. Only after a prolonged discussion, the match finally went underway at 11:00 am (IST) with the team selected by Tiwari getting to play the match against Mumbai, the same Indian Express report confirms.

On the other hand, Kumar said that he won the elections to be the secretary and thus cannot be suspended. He further claimed that a President cannot select the team and it is only the BCCI Secretary Jay Shah who announced the India team never the President Roger Binny.
