Pakistan is undoubtedly a cricket loving nation but the standard of game in the country has fallen drastically over the years. In the last few years, dismal performance of Pakistan's national cricket team testifies to this. One of the main reasons behind Pakistan's downfall is lack of proper management at the ground level to nurture young talent.

A video is going viral on social media, which shows a cricket stadium in Khanewal, the Punjab Province of Pakistan, being used for growing vegetables. The playground has been converted into a farm. Pumpkin and chilli are being grown inside the stadium which was least expected to host domestic matches.

A report in Pakistan's ARY news channel confirmed that vegetables were being grown now at Khanewal Cricket Stadium in Punjab province. Domestic matches were supposed to be held in this stadium that was designed to promote cricket at the ground level. According to the report, crores of rupees were spent to build this stadium with all high-level facilities. This Khanewal Cricket Stadium comes under Khanewal District Administration.

Significantly, in the year 2009, a terror attack had been executed by terrorists on the Sri Lankan team that was touring Pakistan for an international series. Since the dreaded incident, no international match took place here until April this year, when Zimbabwe arrived in Pakistan. During this, a series of 3 T20 and 2 Tests was played between the two countries.  Also, New Zealand cricket team is scheduled to tour Pakistan in September this year.
