Swiss tennis maestro and 20-time Grand Slam champion Roger Federer might be in social distancing mode high in the Alps in Switzerland but it is tough to take away the tennis racquet from Fedex's hand. Amid snowy conditons, Federer practiced his strokes to perfection and showed a glimpse of his much famed trick shots, which he uses with great deception against opponents on the ATP World Tour.
The modern day great shared a video of his practice session that went viral in no time, with fans and Federer's rivals on the tour complimenting him for his finese and panache. Federer hit a series of tweeners and behind-the-back shots with perfect precision against a wall. The video posted by Federer eclipsed one million views on Twitter about two hours after it was posted. The 38-year-old captioned the post as: "Making sure I still remember how to hit trick shots #TennisAtHome".Earlier this year, Federer had undergone arthroscopic surgery on his right knee.
Just last week, the most succesful Grand Slam champion and his wife, Mirka Federer, revealed that they donated one million Swiss Francs (USD $1.02 million) to vulnerable families in Switzerland to contribute towards the global fight against coronavirus.
Federer, who currently is placed at No. 4 in the FedEx ATP Rankings, last competed in the semi-finals of the Australian Open where he lost to eventual champion Novak Djokovic, before undergoing right knee surgery in February. If his recent video shows anything, it's that the 38-year-old has not lost his touch.
