New Delhi: Women's cricket has been included in the Commonwealth Games 2022. Top women players from all over the world will participate in the mega multi-nation event. The first match of this tournament will be played between India and reigning World T20 champions Australia on 29th July. Cricket fans will also be eagerly waiting for the match between India and Pakistan in CWG 2022. The fifth match of Group A will be played between arch-rivals India and Pakistan. The thrilling encounter will take place in Birmingham (UK).


Cricket has returned to the Commonwealth Games after 24 years. Earlier in 1998, cricket was given a place in this tournament. But this time only women's cricket has been included. The match between arch-rivals India and Pakistan will be played on July 31 at Edgbaston, Birmingham. It will start at 4.30 pm Indian standard time.


The selection committee of India has announced the women's team for CWG 2022. Harmanpreet Kaur will captain India in the Commonwealth Games. Two wicket-keepers have been given place in the team. Tania Bhatia and Yastika Bhatia have got a place in the team. Smriti Mandhana, Shefali Verma, and Jemimah Rodriguez are also part of the team.
