CWG 2022 Medal Tally: India added two more medals to the overall tally on Thursday to take the total to 20 medals at the Commonwealth Games 2022. On Day 7 of CWG 2022, India added a Gold and a Silver more to be ranked at the 7th spot in the overall medal standings.

India's Sudhir claimed the gold medal in the men's heavyweight para-powerlifting event while Murali Sreeshankar clinched a silver in the men's long jump event on Day 7 of the Birmingham Games 2022.

Day 7, Results - India At CWG 2022 

Ace Indian shuttlers PV Sindhu, Kidambi Srikanth and Lakshya Sen on Thursday sailed into the pre-quarterfinals of their respective singles events after recording comfortable victories at the Birmingham Games 2022.

In the table tennis event of the Commonwealth Games, reigning National champion Sreeja Akula, seasoned Manika Batra and Reeth Rishya entered the women's singles pre-quarterfinals.

Meanwhile, in squash, Anahat Singh and Sunayna Kuruvilla put up an impressive performance to reach the women's doubles pre-quarterfinals. Abhay Singh and Velavan Senthilkumar also recorded a straight-game win over Luca Reich and Joe Chapman of the British Virgin Islands to enter the men's doubles pre-quarterfinals. However, the experienced mixed doubles duo of Joshna Chinappa and Harinderpal Sandhu suffered defeat in its round of 16 match.

Indian pugilists also paved their way and have now assured the nation of at least 7 medals at the Commonwealth Games 2022.

Nikhat Zareen (50kg), Nitu Ghanghas (48kg), Mohd Hussamudin (57kg), Sagar Ahlawat (+91kg), Jasmine Lamboriya (60kg), Amit Panghal (51kg) and Rohit Tokas (67kg) are all in the medal contention and will be taking their campaign further.
