After winning the Serie A for nine straight years, Juventus lost the title this season to Inter Milan. This didn't go down very well with the Juve administration as a club legend and a manager since the past one year, Andre Pirlo has been sacked as the manager of Juventus Football Club.

The old lady, (as known in Europe) has appointed Massimiliano Allegri as their new coach. Allegri was the coach of Juventus from 2014-2019, he had a long association with the Turin-based club.

Pirlo was appointed after Sarri was sacked within a year of his appointment. Looks like Juventus is in a transitory phase. With a good team consisting of Cristiano Ronaldo, Alvaro Morata, and others, it is hard to understand how Juventus were not able to win any major trophy this season. Much of the credit for Serie A becoming interesting goes to the steady development of teams like Inter Milan, AC Milan, Roma, Napoli, among other teams.

In a statement on Juventus' website, the club announced this news:

"Pirlo has just begun the first steps of what will no doubt become a brilliant career as a coach. An adventure of transformation, seeking, and often managing, to bring his ideas and his experience as a champion on the pitch from the “other side” of the fence...

"For all this, for the courage, the dedication, the passion with which he demonstrated every day, our thanks go to the Maestro, the Coach, and to Andrea, that really comes from the heart. As well as our good luck for the future that will surely be a wonderful one."
