The entire squad and support staff of Indian men's cricket team congratulated U-19 Women's cricket team for winning the first-ever ICC Women's U-19 T20 World Cup in South Africa. Soon after beating New Zealand in 2nd T20I at Lucknow to level series 1-1, the men's senior team recorded a video message for the U-19 women's team, congratulating them for their historic triumph.

The video message was posted by the Board of Control for Cricket in India's (BCCI) official Twitter handle. Head coach Rahul Dravid can be seen holding the mic which he later passes to young India opener Prithvi Shaw, asking him to deliver the 'special message' as he himself is an U-19 World Cup winning captain (2018).

While Shaw was congratulating the women's team, his teammates Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan were all smiles. Notably, Ishan Kishan is also an U-19 captain. Under his captaincy, India U-19 team lost 2016 World Cup final to West Indies and Shubman Gill was part of Shaw-led U-19 team that won the Junior tournament in 2018 by defeating New Zealand.
