Jakarta [Indonesia], August 22 (ANI): As many as four bronze medals have been assured for India after four players won their respective quarter-final matches in the Sanda category of the ongoing 18th edition of Asian Games.

In men's 60 kg Sanda category, Surya Bhanu Pratap had defeated Claude Jean 2-0 in the last-eight encounter while in the 56kg category, Santosh Kumar had knocked out Phithak Paokrathok of Thailand 2-1 to book a place in the semi-final of the event.

While Pratap will face Erfan Ahangarian in the semi-final, Kumar will take on Giang Truong of Iran for a place in the finals.

Narendra Grewal, who is competing in men's 65 kg Sanda category, had edged past Akmal Rakhimov of Uzbekistan 2-0 to head further in the tournament.

In women's Sanda event, Indian wushu player Roshibina Devi also qualified for the semi-final after registering a thumping 2-0 victory over Mubashra of Pakistan.

Grewal will look to get past Foroud Zafari of Iran in the semi-final while Devi will cross swords with Chinese player Yingying Cai in the last-four.

In swimming, the Indian team have qualified for the final of the men's 400m Freestyle Relay event.

The team comprising Aaron Angel Dsouza, Virdhawal Khade, Anshul Kothari and Sajan Prakash clocked 3:25.17 to finish on the top spot in the Heat 1 level.

Qatar, on the other hand, clocked 3:44:46 to finish second followed by Mongolian team with the timing of 3:44:82.

India's total medal tally at the ongoing 18th edition of the prestigious event stands at eleven with four gold, three silver, and four bronze. (ANI)
