Shoaib Akhtar's advice for Rohit Sharma: Indian cricket team started its Asia Cup 2022 campaign on a highly positive note. Rohit Sharma-led young Indian team defeated Pakistan in their opening match and then Hong Kong to attain two back-to-back wins. The defending champions, who were once favorites to retain their title, have been virtually knocked out of Asia Cup 2022 after consecutive defeats at Super-4 of Asia Cup 2022 against Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

Former Pakistan bowler Shoaib Akhtar feels India haven't performed poorly despite losing two matches.

“India haven’t played all that badly, but they haven’t done well and fans are within their rights to get frustrated. However, I feel that there is a rise after every fall and it might help India in the World Cup,” Shoaib Akhtar said on a video posted on his YouTube channel.

Akhtar advised Rohit to improve his captaincy and find a perfect combination.

“India shouldn’t be disheartened, but they need to learn quickly. They need to find their best combination and Rohit Sharma needs to sharpen his captaincy and stay patient,” he added.

Shoaib believes Sri Lanka and Pakistan will qualify for Asia Cup 2022 final.

“If Pakistan lose both their next two matches, then India can qualify, but I don’t think India have a chance. As per me, Pakistan and Sri Lanka will play in the final,” Shoaib Akhtar added.

In his earlier video, Shoaib Akhtar had said he wanted India to play against Pakistan in Asia Cup 2022 final.

“I wanted India and Pakistan to play in the final, and I had already bought tickets. I wanted to interact with Indian and Pakistani crowds,” he said.
