New Delhi: Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President Sourav Ganguly, putting an end to all speculations, said that the Asia Cup 2022 will be held in the United Arab Emirates. Ganguly revealed this while talking to reporters after the board's Apex Council meeting in Mumbai.

The Asia Cup 2022 was proposed to be held in Sri Lanka, but political instability is at its peak in the island country. Sri Lanka's Gotabaya Rajapaksa has taken refuge in the Maldives. In such circumstances, organizing the Asia Cup was bit of a challenging in crisis-hit Sri Lanka. Because of this, other options were being considered, and now the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has been finalised as the hosting nation for Asia Cup 2022.

"Asia Cup 2022 will be in United Arab Emirates (UAE), as it is the only place where there won't be rain," Sourav Ganguly said after the Board's Apex Council meeting.

T20 World Cup to be held in October

T20 World Cup 2022 will also be played in the month of October this year in Australia. The T20 World Cup is being organized in Australia for the first time. Last year the T20 World Cup was held in Dubai which was won by Australia, while the Indian team was eliminated after losing in the group stage.
