New Delhi: Indian cricket team's star bowler Jasprit Bumrah's injury came as a big blow for the fans and national team. Bumrah has already been ruled out of the Asia Cup due to his injury, and now there is suspense about him playing in the T20 World Cup 2022 as well. As per a report in Insidesport, Jasprit Bumrah, currently in rehab at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru, is doubtful for the T20 World Cup 2022. It is the same back injury that troubled him a lot in 2019. If Bumrah, team India's premier pace bowler, gets ruled out of the T20 World Cup due to this injury, then it will be a huge blow.
Giving an update to Inside Sports about Jasprit Bumrah's injury, a BCCI official said, "Yes, it’s concerning. He is back in rehab and will get the best medical advice available. The problem is it’s his old injury and that is what is concerning. We have just two months left for the World Cup and he has got this injury at the worst possible time. We are closely monitoring his condition. He is the best bowler in cricket and needs to be carefully managed."
In the absence of Jasprit Bumrah, the Indian bowling attack in the Asia Cup will be less lethal. There is no experienced fast bowler other than Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the team. Arshdeep Singh and Avesh Khan have made it to the team as fast bowlers. In-form speedster Harshal Patel has also not been selected in the Asia Cup squad due to injury.
