Jakarta [Indonesia], August 19 (ANI): Indian shooter Apurvi Chandela, who won bronze medal along with Ravi Kumar in the 10m mixed rifle event at the Asian Games 2018, has said that she is now hoping to perform well in the individual shooting event.
Speaking to ANI, she said, "I am really happy that Ravi and I were able to get a medal for the country. Hopefully, we both have our individual events tomorrow. We are preparing for that." "We will give our best again," she added.
Crediting her partner for winning bronze in the ongoing event, Chandela said that it was a joint effort.
"He (Ravi) did really well in the qualification round as well. It is a joint effort," she said.
Earlier, the Indian duo had scored 429.9 points to give India their first medal of the quadrennial event.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the bronze medalist pair for clinching nation's first medal in the Asian Games.
"Our talented shooters give us our first medals at the @asiangames2018.Well done @apurvichandela and Ravi Kumar for bagging the Bronze medal in the 10m Air rifle mixed team event. #AsianGames2018," he tweeted.
