Pakistan cricket team's former all-rounder Abdul Razzaq opened up on rumours of his love affair with actress and stage dancer Deedar. Speaking to a private news channel, Razzaq made some big revelations and spoke frankly on his fleeting love affair with Deedar as he accepted that he couldn't marry her because of her stage career.

During the interview, Abdul Razzak confessed he was involved in a serious romantic relationship with Deedar in the late 90s but couldn't make anything official as they had to move on with their lives when things didn't work out.

“We became friends in 1999, and I never promised her that I’d marry her…” Abdul Razzaq said. “I had told her that we will decide with time. We remained friends but as for marriage, I had given her six months to make a decision,” he added.

The former Pakistani all-rounder also revealed that he told Deedar he would consider marrying her if she opted to choose a different career.

“She would say that I can’t leave my career or drama activities, so I told her that it would be hard for me to marry her given my family background…” said Razzaq, after which he recalled how they eventually broke up as Deedar didn't want to leave her stage dancing career.

Deedar is now married to Hamza Bhatti since 2012 while Razzaq has been married to Ayesha Razzaq.

Few month back, Abdul Razzaq, who often garners attention with his controversial statements, categorically refused to compare the cricketers of his country with Indian players and said that Pakistan has a lot of talent and if Indian players do not compare themselves with Pakistani players, then we should not do the same.
