The girls, involved in social work with Youth Football Club, Rurka Kalan, have been called to be recognised for their work in social service. A local from Rurka Kalan, Jaspreet Kaur, will be going as a facilitator while Sonia Rani and Bajlinder Kaur will visit as youth ambassadors.
As reported learned from several media reports, Jaspreet will conduct a session for the sports and development of young leaders. She said, “We are really excited for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. We have got tickets for a Round of 16 match (No. 51) at the Luzhniki Stadium.”
During their 15-day tour, they will be a part of a youth program called ‘FIFA Foundation Festival’ meant for young leaders.
“It does not matter whether you come from a village or a city. If you do your work sincerely and selflessly, God will take note of it. Youth Football Club, Rurka Kalan, with its social work, has changed many lives in the villages of Punjab. This trip is a result of their blessings. We will try to do our best and show FIFA that they were not wrong in choosing us,” said Sonia encouraging people to be more involved in social service.
The Youth Football Club started in 2001 as a mere Football Club to counter the increasing problem of drug addiction amongst the youth. It has now grown into an organisation which helps young minds in the field of education, sports, health, development and environment. This organisation works does not take any money from the people enrolled and aims at improving the lives of the people.
