The year 2022 has seen a lot of glorious moments in Indian sports. Be it Kohli’s special knock at the MCG or Indian badminton's outstanding victory at Thomas Cup, India witnessed it all. Here are a few top moments in Indian sports that transpired this year in 2022.


Thomas Cup Victory:






One of the greatest moments in Indian badminton history. The Indian men’s badminton team scripted history when they shocked 14-time Champions Indonesia to win the prestigious Thomas Cup. Lakshya Sen and Kidambi Srikant defeated defending champion Indonesia's Anthony Sinisuka Ginting and Jonatan Christie, respectively in their singles matches. Meanwhile, 'golden boys' Satwik Sairaj Rankireddy & Chirag Shetty continued their mesmerizing run by winning their doubles clash to help India get the biggest win of the tournament. Thomas Cup 2022 was the first time, India managed to reach the final of the Thomas and Uber Cup in its 70-plus-year history. 


Kohli's Masterclass at MCG:






The India vs Pakistan clash has always been the most hyped moment in world cricket. It was in the recently passed T20 World Cup where team India chased 160 for victory and the Men in Blue at one point in time were struggling at  31/4. At the MCG, India’s Virat Kohli single-handedly snatched the match away from Pakistan and won it for India. He scored an unbeaten 82 runs knock and mark his presence at the 'Big G'.


India’s Golden Man:






How can we forget Neeraj Chopra when we are talking about the Indian sports top moments? Unfortunately, he could not participate in the  Commonwealth Games due to an injury, but he made sure to cover up for that at the World Athletics Championships. He became only the second Indian and the first Indian male to win a medal at the World Athletics Championships. Neeraj also became the first Indian to win the Diamond League title in September.


BCCI Equal Pay:






The BCCI declared that both men and women will be getting the same match fee.  They will be getting INR 15 lakhs for the Test, INR 6 lakhs for ODI, and INR 3 lakhs for the T20I. Jay Shah, the BCCI secretary took to his Twitter handle and wrote, “I’m pleased to announce BCCI’s first step towards tackling discrimination. We are implementing a pay equity policy for our contracted BCCI women cricketers. The match fee for both Men and Women Cricketers will be the same as we move into a new era of gender equality in Cricket".
