India is likely to experience intense heat waves from April to June this year. On April 2, 2024, maximum temperatures were in the range of 40 to 42 degrees Celsius in several parts of the country, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has said. From April 3 to April 6, a gradual rise in maximum temperatures by two to three degrees Celsius is expected in several parts of northwest, central, and east India. The temperature being referred to here is the ambient air temperature, also known as
