ISRO's POEM-3 Mission Accomplished: How XPoSAT Platform's Fiery Return To Earth Ensures Zero Space Junk

By late January 2024, POEM-3 had achieved all its mission goals, and the only objective that remained to be fulfilled was an atmospheric re-entry. On March 21, 2024, POEM-3 made a fiery re-entry to Earth's atmosphere, leaving zero space junk.

POEM-3 is believed to have splashed down into the North Pacific Ocean at 7:34 pm IST on March 21. According to ISRO, POEM-3 being lowered to a 350-kilometre orbit facilitated its early re-entry.
ISRO's POEM-3: The Indian Space Research Organisation's (ISRO's) POEM-3 has accomplished its primary mission, which was to return to Earth from orbit to ensure zero space debris.
