Surat, July 11: In a heartwarming humanitarian gesture, Dr. Faruk G. Patel, Chairman and Managing Director of KP Group, a leader in the renewable energy sector, accompanied the first group of Muslim daughters, who have lost their fathers, on an Umrah pilgrimage to Mecca and Medina. This noble initiative has been jointly undertaken by KP Group and PP Savani Group, who had earlier facilitated a Char Dham Yatra for 300 women.

It marked a moment of immense joy for 8 fatherless daughters along with their husbands, a total of 16 people, whose long-cherished dream of undertaking the holy pilgrimage was coming true. The group of 25 embarked on the 15-day Umrah journey, with Dr. Faruk Patel and his wife travelling alongside them.

The initiative is an extension of PP Savani Group’s longstanding tradition of arranging marriages for orphaned daughters. So far, over 125 such Muslim daughters have been married under this initiative. KP Group has committed to fulfilling the spiritual aspirations of these newly married daughters by sponsoring their Umrah pilgrimage with their spouses. This marks the first time such a large number of fatherless daughters are being sent on an Umrah pilgrimage with complete financial support and spiritual care.

Prior to this, PP Savani Group had facilitated a Char Dham pilgrimage for 300 such women, divided into six groups, to Ayodhya, Varanasi, Chhapiya, and Prayagraj. What makes this initiative especially commendable is its non-discriminatory nature. Both Dr. Faruk Patel and noted philanthropist Mahesh Savani have committed to carrying out these efforts beyond barriers of caste, creed, or religion, and purely as an act of humanity.

Dr. Faruk Patel said that the Umrah initiative would continue in phases. As more orphaned daughters, who were married at PP Savani Group’s mass marriage ceremony, receive their passports, they will be sent for the pilgrimage. KP Group has pledged to continue supporting this cause, covering all travel, accommodation, and pilgrimage expenses.

On this occasion, Dr. Faruk expressed his joy, “I feel deeply blessed and humbled to have received the sacred opportunity to accompany 8 orphan daughters on their holy Umrah pilgrimage — to walk beside them on this divine path was a soul-touching experience I will cherish forever.

With a heart full of gratitude, I offer my sincere prayers for the noble soul, Maheshbhai Savani, whose selfless efforts have united thousands of these daughters in marriage and who brought me closer to them through this journey. And with the blessings of the Almighty, we will keep doing such noble causes in future too.”

Dr. Faruk Patel emphasised, “Building upon Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’ s vision of ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ (Save the daughter, Educate the daughter), we are committed not only to empowering daughters through education but also to creating a future where they thrive with happiness and prosperity.”

Emotions ran high as these daughters and their families fulfilled a lifelong dream. Gratitude and prayers poured in for the two philanthropists behind this exemplary initiative.
