Chhath Puja 2024: The four-day grand festival of Chhath has begun. Yesterday was the first day of Chhath, known as Nahay Khay. The next day is Kharn, which is the second and important day of the festival.
It is worth mentioning that this year, Chhath Puja started on November 5, and Kharn will be observed today, on November 6, 2024. The main rituals of Chhath involve worshipping Lord Bhaskar (Surya Dev) and Chhathi Maiya (Goddess Shashti).

Importance Of Kharna Puja
Kharn holds special significance in Chhath Puja. It is the second day of the four-day Chhath festival. On this day, women, keeping cleanliness and purity in mind, prepare rice kheer and sweet roti on a mud stove after bathing. According to religious beliefs, the arrival of Chhathi Maiya (Goddess Shashti) is celebrated on this day, making it an important part of the Chhath festival.
Kharna 2024 Time
The auspicious timing for Kharna Puja will be from 5:29 PM to 7:48 PM on November 6. During this time, women observing the fast should perform the Kharna ritual.
Kharna Puja Vidhi
On Kharna Puja day, after bathing, the devotee should begin preparing the prasad. First, offer Arghya to Lord Sun. Then, prepare Kheer with sathi rice and jaggery on a mud stove (Kharna Kheer Prasad). Along with this, make sweet roti and keep ripe bananas. Offer these offerings to Chhathi Maiya first, light incense and lamps, and then, at the auspicious time, partake in the Kharna prasad. After consuming the prasad, the devotee should not eat anything else. The fast is broken only after offering the Usha Arghya (Surya Arghya).
