Sonbhadra Firing Case: Priyanka Gandhi Detained By Police In UP After She Sits On Dharna; See Pics
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra who had arrived in Sonbhadra earlier today was detained by the police after she sat on a dharna against the state government.

Priyanka was detained from Varansai and was not allowed to move ahead to Mirzapur.
Police detained her citing violating of Section 144, which was imposed in the area. The section prohibits assembly of more than 4 people in an area.
She was not allowed to meet the kin of those killed in firing over a land dispute on July 17, following which she was detained by the police.

Annoyed over the lack of permission to visit Sonbhadra, Gandhi and her supporters squatted on a road in Narayanpur area in Mirzapur.
Apart from meeting the family members, Priyanka was also expected to visit the place of the incident. However, she did not get the permission to go to Sonbhadra.
After meeting the injured in Varanasi, Gandhi proceeded for Ubhbha village in Mirzapur. There, she was stopped by the police.
Priyanka met the family members of those who were killed in firing over a land dispute on July 17 in Uttar Pradesh.
